This one of a kind Project bike is made in the style of an early Mountain bike, in colors that were classic when 'picnic' meant a summer table crowded with cold chicken, home-dishes and when everyone took a turn at cranking the ice cream. Mounting this steed, one might find that 'taking the reins', as it were, induced a singular combination of pride, langor, alertness and confidence, as the absence of crouch and cramp allows a comfortable survey of the whole surround. Putting foot to pedal one immediately would notice a very modest effort results in sprightly and considerable progress.

Wheels by Derby King: Campagnolo N.R. high flange front, Paul 'Word' rear, with Mavic 238 box section rims
Bars: Custom bend chrome-moly by Chris Peteridge of Marin County
Brake System: Magura levers with Mafac cantilever calipers
Saddle: Brooks Team Professional pre-softened, brown with brass rivets
Drive System: TA cranks and ring, Lyotard alloy double side tourist pedal with Christophe steel toeclips, NHK special blue link chain, ACS Claws freewheel
Tires: Continental, made in Germany
