This bike is easier to pedal than road or mountain bikes that cost the same (and more) because it is a 'Magic Hands' handwelded frame. The combination of the handmade frame and the Kona P2 triple butted fork means it is comfortable to ride offroad or on pavement. These two factors, energy efficiency and comfort, combined with the strong wheels, make it a better touring bike than most 'touring bikes', and it has the braze-ons to match. Some of our customers commute on one during the week, ride trails on the weekends, and go on a tour for vacation, all on this same bike! One of them (Cici) became known as the 'Human Dynamo' because of all the road bikes she passed on hills while doing the SF to LA Aids Ride. This bike has a 15" frame, measuring 13.5" center-to-center. Stand-over height is 27". Top tube length is 20.5". What are all the spacers on the fork steering tube about? Most bikes have the steerer tube trimmed to fit the frame when made. We can trim this one, too, if you want. However, set up this way, it will provide an unsurpassed measure of balance and comfort for a short-waisted rider.The combination of the short top tube and bars the same height (or higher) than the seat are what makes the difference. The stem and bars will be changed as necessary when you purchase it.
