These crank axles were the ones we used when we wanted the utmost in durability and smoothness. With all other axles, adjustment of the bottom bracket consists of finding the 'best spot', often a compromise (smooth with one spot that has a little play, or no play, with one spot of resistance). Using this axle, we usually found there to be an actual 'adjustment range', where a small angle of adjustable cup rotation shows
both no play and no roughness! However we do not recommend that the caged balls supplied by Campagnolo be used; these grade 1000 balls will cause wear quicker than a set of our loose grade 25 Swiss balls. This axle is intended for an English width bottom bracket (68mm). The axle is marked 68-SS-120, and is 112mm long. Distance between the races is 48mm; the right side of the axle extends 34mm beyond the race.
