Mountain Goat Trials
$1586.00 Ask Derby about this item.
The Mountain Goat 13" trials frame was hand welded in Chico, California, on January 14, 1985, and was assembled into a bike a few weeks later. Because of the high quality of the frame welds the bike is very easy to pedal and feels solid without being harsh. The frame was welded by the renown Jeff Lindsay, who was at the time one of only two US frame makers licensed to use the ultra thin Reynolds 753 tubing. Stand-over height is approximately 27.5". The pedals are quite high off the ground, normal for a trials bike, thus it looks rather like a BMX bike made for a big kid...
The 171mm Sugino cranks use a single 42 tooth chainring.
The six speed freewheel, rear derailleur, friction shift lever, and roller-cam rear brake were all made by Suntour. The hand built wheels include the following components: Sanshin Gyromaster sealed bearing hubs laced with DT spokes to Ambrosia rims.
This bike has seen little use, as its owner was using his other Mountain Goat bike for long rides instead of practicing his trials skills on this one.
